The shameless Yemeni warring factions, the incompetent and corrupt Yemeni government, the treacherous Arab governments, in particular, Saudi Arabia and UAE – should take note of the following statistics of the ongoing conflict in Yemen:
- More than 13,000 have been killed
- Over two million have been internally displaced
- There is a cholera epidemic with over one million cases and over 3,000 deaths to date
These statistics have caused outrage across the world. But have these factions and regimes realized that the real measure and statistic to cause outrage arises from just ONE Muslim:
وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَآؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا
“And whosoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein forever, and the Wrath of Allah is upon him, and His curse; prepared for him is a grievous torment.” (TMQ Al-Nisa 4:93)
Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:
“If one of you passes through our Masjid or our marketplace, with an arrow, let him hold it in his hand by its point, lest he harms one of the Muslims with it in some way.” (Muslim)
“A Muslim is unlawful to another Muslim; his blood, his wealth and his honor.” (Muslim)
“Verily the destruction of the Ka’ba, rock by rock is lighter to Allah than the spilling of the blood of a Muslims.” (Tirmidhi)
The sorrow, pain, and blood of one Muslim are enough! Have these factions and regimes no sense, taking the blood of thousands and bringing sorrow to millions!?
Their drunkenness to chase the life, their appetite to prolong their illegitimate rule and their hunger to please their American and British masters has only further exposed their distance from Islam and the Muslims.
The solution for Yemen, as for all the Muslim world, does not lie in western political solutions which serve colonial interests. The solution does not lie in the factions of Yemen or the intervention of regimes that serve their political agenda and that of their colonial masters. As the Muslims seek to organize charity and do duaa’, for which there is reward, showing their immense love and connection to their brothers and sisters – the humanitarian, effort will not solve the issue of Yemen, as it has not solved the issue of Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Burma and the like.
The only solution lies in returning to the political leadership and system under the Khilafah. It is not leadership or system based on race, tribe, political expediency or influenced by western political thoughts, systems or powers. Rather, the Khilafah is the leadership and system that governs solely by the book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) that protects the honor, wealth, rights, blood and dignity of all its citizens under the justice of Islam. It is political leadership that Islam has obliged the Muslims to work and establish upon the Prophetic method.
