An alarm went off for the Ummah on the 7th of October, the regional and global tremor of which was felt by the earth and its dwellers. The action undertaken by the remnants of resistance in the Holy Land (Al Quds) was a deliberate halt to the insidious betrayal of the region’s puppet-masters. The Arab states, feeling secure within themselves following the beguilement of their citizens with regard to their position in the world, were on the road to erasing a near century of aggression against the Ummah. To their dismay, Allah gave way to a shift of the political atmosphere, granting hope in victory for His servants, while testing the capable ones to see what they will do.
The atrocities thereafter came from a mix of fear, outrage and disorderliness of a perpetually defeated, debased and decadent people. Assumed to be the bearer of the world’s most technologically advanced military and intelligence complex, the Zionist entity was put to shame. And so, it resorted to its only ideologically available option in the face of such embarrassment and bewilderment– indiscriminate killing en masse of civilians in densely populated areas. The intent was to not only deter the resistance from possible future operations, but to break the will of an unrelenting people who have, indeed, become accustomed to ongoing treachery from all corners of the world. The international community watched and waited, either actively or silently condoning this barbarism. The Muslim leadership shot blank condemnations and censures, thinking that by doing so it would appease the masses. The Muslims, however, came to realize the treachery at play, and acknowledged that there is no dignity or honor in “leaders” cultivated and carefully picked by the West to serve interests foreign in place of domestic. It became crystal clear to the Muslims that their so-called people’s representative is a deluded fearmongerer whose muddled, selfish ideology is distinct from the Islamic thought and sentiment of the average Muslim. If only these public condemnations were capable of protecting our children in Al Quds from their imminent slaughter…
O Muslims who have what we do not have of means to change the status quo, I ask you– has the elapsing of time made you deaf to the horrific shrieks of dispossessed mothers and fathers, siblings and cousins, aunts and uncles whose life’s purpose and care was shattered in a matter of minutes? Are you blind to the bloodied corpses that have turned the hospitals and mosques into graveyards, or have the squeals of maimed children rendered you unable to speak? Where is your dignity, that you still insist on the devil to desist from his evil, and let time offer you respite? Let it settle in your heart the truth that Allah has made manifest of the disbelievers and hypocrites, when He (swt) said ﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ﴾ “And when it is told to them ‘Do not corrupt the earth’ they say ‘we are only peacemakers’” [Al-Baqarah:11]. The West and her allies are the biggest placaters of the modern era. A nation whose ideological backbone has been broken can never withstand a test of arms and struggle, which is when propaganda and mass killing become the lifeline of a regime. Awaken from your slumber, O military officer, for your weakness is only in your heart. Indeed it was Pharaoh who made his people feel weak, even though they were not. He made them question their judgment about life and the principles of their faith. Pharaoh’s propaganda was his lifeline, and as soon as it was disassembled the believers of that time were able to free themselves of their ideological shackles. Likewise, it is time for you to tear down the negativity of thought and expose the corruption where you see it. The propaganda has been exposed and so have the lies of the past century. The people of Palestine have offered a heroic sacrifice in anticipation and eagerness to hear the sounds of your takbeer. They have exchanged their souls and the souls of their children for minutes, to give time for your slumber and sluggishness to wear off. The Ummah has risen. Wake up and realize your life’s mission, O man of capacity and means, for your Ummah calls you to serve.
“Has the time not yet come for believers’ hearts to be humbled at the remembrance of Allah and what has been revealed of the truth, and not be like those given the Scripture before—˹those˺ who were spoiled for so long that their hearts became hardened. And many of them are ˹still˺ rebellious.” [Al-Hadid: 16]
