Americans for the first time had the opportunity to witness Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton present their ideas on how to fix American problems, but instead America witnessed a shouting match that looked more like school kids arguing who would win a fight Iron Man or Batman. The debate highlighted how low America’s political scene has become as the candidates that are working to be the “Leader of the Free World” look more like the leader of the circus show.
Each one accused the other of lying multiple times on very important issues, and then the fact checking campaign began to see who was lying. As it turned out both of them were lying on very important issues from Hillary’s flip-flop support of The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal to Donald’s denial of Global Warming. In between the immature insults that both candidates threw at each other did come with some truth. Donald Trump pointed the fact that Clinton authorized the devastating war in Iraq that has killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims, when she was senator of New York she did nothing to fight the “stop and frisk” program, and there are many more.
Allah SWT has honored us with Islam, and given us the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW. As Muslims we have the Quran and Sunnah to guide us, and we use the Quran and Sunnah in all of life’s affair. In America politicians have a very negative attitude due to the people correlating corruption and lies to the field of politics. Lies and corruption in politics is the norm in Capitalism, and the people expect that quality in their political leadership. Islam has a complete 180 attitude on this as Islam has commanded the believers to be truthful and accounted.
The Prophet SAW, said: “Beware of lying because lying leads to dissoluteness, and dissoluteness leads to Hell. A person keeps on telling lies until he is written before Allah as a liar.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: “This is lawful and this is forbidden,” so as to invent lies against Allah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allah will never prosper.” [TMQ Quran 16:116]
The Prophet SAW, said: “There are three characteristics of a hypocrite: when he speaks he lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it and when he is trusted he betrays.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Bukhari travelled the world to collect hadiths, and on one occasion he went far to collect a narration from a person. He saw that person tricking his animal with food, and that action was enough for Bukhari to discredit him a reliable source. The famous nicknames for the US presidential candidates “Corrupt Clinton and “Lying Donald” reflect the reality of the system. The system is based on Kufr (disbelief), and we are witnessing Kufr at its best.
