Racism has plagued American society since its inception. Racism is embedded in its institutions and is systemic in nature. Despite having a Black President for eight years, America has been unable to solve racism.
Continued calls for reform, legislative changes and #DefundThePolice are Band-Aid’s to a pervasive systemic problem. We need to look beyond such Band-Aid’s towards systemic solutions.
