Republican Presidential candidate Ted Cruz made headlines this week by stating,
“We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized“.
His comments were immediately criticized from President Obama to the NYPD Police Chief, but the Cruz campaign pointed out the irony of the NYPD when they ran the biggest surveillance project against the Muslims of New York City. Cruz’s campaign stated:
“…should he be elected president, his administration would revive the surveillance program formerly used by Bratton’s (NYPD Chief) department”
Muslims neighborhoods are being patrolled through a network of informants that report daily on the activities of innocent Muslims from the police to the FBI. Muslims were not shocked about Cruz’s statement rather what shocked the community is the crocodile tears of politicians who were against Cruz’s statement and the same politicians who support and vote for the likes of the FBI informants / entrapment programs.
The use of FBI informants and local police forces acting as counter terrorism/clandestine intelligence organization has flourished in the past eight years where Democrats ruled the White House. As Election Day is approaching Muslims and non-Muslims shouldn’t fall in the trap that one party looks for the best interest over the other as the amount of scrutiny that has fallen under the Muslims in America is increasing with the Democratic President Obama.
No matter who wins 2016 we will be the losers! We will continue to witness the FBI entrapment programs, increase of FBI informants from the Masjids to the MSAs.
