Madaya to Mogadishu

The sight of starving children in Madaya, Syria is nothing compared to the suffering of the children within Africa. Few years ago UNICEF put out a report that “5,500 children die in Eastern and Southern Africa every day”. The beautiful continent of Africa has been blessed by Allah SWT with the crown jewels of natural resources from its silt rich rivers, fields that can grow enough wheat and rice to feed the world, land that almost has all the elements in the periodic table, and so on.

Under the banner of Islam this land was envied by the world as it produced some of the Ummah’s greatest leaders, scholars, scientist, and so on. Under the rule of Islam, Ibn Battuta describes his visit to East Africa:

“(Mogadishu) a town endless in its size. Its people have many camels, of which they slaughter hundreds every day and they have many sheep. Its people are powerful merchants. In it are manufactured cloths named after it which have no rival, and are transported as far as Egypt and elsewhere.”

Today when Mogadishu is mentioned we think the opposite such as: poverty, chaos, barren land, and so on.  Allah SWT blessed us to be with the Ummah of Mohammed (SAW), He SWT gave us the seal of the Prophets, He SWT gave us the ultimate guidance that allowed us to bring mercy and justice to this world.  Reviving the Islamic way of life through the Khilafah will end the misery of humanity from Madaya to Mogadishu.  We must work to ensure that we partake in the crown of obligations in the reestablishment of the Khilafah.

“My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are corrupt.” (TMQ Al-Ankabut:30)
