There are problems and challenges that confront Muslims globally, but then there is Palestine…and only Palestine.
Palestine sits deep in the heart of every Muslim. It is not simply that it was the first Qibla, or the incredible night journey, or the prayer of the Prophets, or Masjid Al-Aqsa or the gathering for the Day of Judgment.
Rather Palestine epitomizes the very of life the Ummah…occupation, oppression, division, treachery and abandonment.
As Israel cut electricity supplies to an already power depleted Gaza, the Egyptian regime stepped in to provide fuel for Gaza’s only power plant, though it will only last for a few days.
But this gesture from the Egyptian regime should be put into perspective:
1. This is the same regime that closed the Rafah crossing on numerous occasions, shutting the only real link to trade and supplies for Gaza
2. This is the same regime that bombed underground tunnels at Rafah to prevent Gaza receiving supplies of food, goods and weapons
3. This is the same regime that maintains political and military ties with the aggressor of Gaza and the occupier of Palestine
And the tragedy of Gaza and Palestine is more broadly represented in the following two observations:
1. How neighboring regimes committed troops and fighter jets to bomb in Syria, Libya and Yemen…but not a single response to the physical, economic, political, social and brutal terrorism that the illegal occupier of Palestine commits daily upon the people. It is telling how non-Muslim students, academics and institutions around the world increasingly are taking steps to boycott Israel, but the Arab regimes actively seek to normalize relations with Israel
2. As the political stand-off and threat of punitive measures between brothers in the Gulf region grows, where are the demands and threats against the brutality and terrorism of Israel and her sponsor and protector ie the United States?
Yes, Palestine epitomizes the very of life the Ummah…occupation, oppression, division, treachery and abandonment.
It is only the sincere Islamic leadership, the Khilafah that will truly liberate Palestine, return to the Muslims protection, honor and dignity and provide peace and stability for all people of the region (Muslims, Jews and Christians).
