A Muslim made dua for Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention yesterday, and he even sited a Hadith to promote Donald Trump. The issue is not why a Muslim would stoop that low to be recognized by the Republican party that has made anti-Islamic rhetoric as part of its Party platform but why certain Muslim groups and “leaders” humiliate themselves by promoting political parties/candidates that are responsible for pushing policies that have allowed Muslims to be; tortured, spied on, killed by drones, and etc. Certain Muslims groups have gone so low in their decline thinking that the only thing left is to promote the “lesser of two evils”, so they are pushing Muslims to vote for Hillary who voted for the War in Iraq, a hardcore supporter of Israel and Zionism, a supporter of dictators in the Muslims world and the list doesnt stop there.
Islam has mandated that a believer is politically astute from the hadith of the Prophet (SAW) “A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice” (Bukhari/ Muslim). In 2000 Muslim groups/leaders encouraged Muslims to vote for Bush and we all know the result of that. In 2008 these same groups pushed Muslims to vote for Obama and 8 years later Muslims in America are far worse. A commentary on the above hadith states “It is understood that it is important to be aware and not to repeat the same mistake. In other words – it is a necessary to learn from experience in order not to fall into similar error”.
As Muslims in America we must protect ourselves from falling into these humiliating traps and to understand our role as Muslims in the West. We want to remind the people that Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international, political party whose ideology is Islam. Hizb ut-Tahrir works to resume the Islamic way of life by re-establishing the Khilafah in Muslim lands. It works with the Muslim Ummah globally and locally, so that she adopts Islam as her cause and is led to restore the Khilafah.
In accordance with the Islamic Shari’ah, Hizb ut-Tahrir utilizes non-violent means for political change to re-establish the Islamic State, as outlined by the Prophet of Allah (SAW). Hizb ut-Tahrir does not engage in political struggle in America or the West, it only engages in political struggle in Muslim lands. However Hizb ut-Tahrir rejects the meddling in the affairs of the Muslim world by America and other Western powers, and the imposing of western values, and American hegemony against the Muslims.
In America, Hizb ut-Tahrir works to preserve the Islamic identity of Muslims and to keep them connected with the Muslim Ummah around the world. It reminds the Muslims that their Rab (Lord) is one, their Deen is one, and their Ummah is one. Hizb ut-Tahrir reminds the Muslims that they must obey Allah in all aspects of their lives, and that they must manage all affairs of their lives in accordance with Allah’s Deen, Islam.
