Hundreds gathered in person for World at Crossroads: The Ideological Crisis and the Path Forward, the annual Khilafah conference held in America on 5th April 2025, confronting the growing contradictions in the West’s claim to justice, liberty, and human dignity. A satellite event in Los Angeles added to the reach, while thousands watched live from across the globe.
The conference brought together thought leaders and professionals to examine the West’s selective commitment to freedom and the consequences of abandoning divine guidance in politics and society. Attendees heard powerful talks calling for a return to Islam as a comprehensive way of life that unites and uplifts the Ummah.
Haris Abu Nurayn opened with: The Mask Unraveled: Contradictions in the Claim of Western Values, exposing how democratic slogans are used to cover censorship, war crimes, and repression. He highlighted the use of media manipulation and social media bans to protect Zionist narratives, even as journalists in Gaza are killed and students in America are arrested and kidnapped by law enforcement for the crime of criticizing the Zionist crimes.
Dr. Abdur-Rafay followed with: Gaza’s Healthcare Under Siege. Drawing from his experience treating the wounded in Gaza, he described the complete collapse of healthcare infrastructure under siege, with children forced to endure amputations without anesthesia. His account made clear that the suffering is not incidental. It is the result of deliberate policies and blockades supported by foreign powers.
In the final talk, Dr. Mohammad Abdullah delivered: Muslims in America: How to Move Forward, urging Muslims to rise above party politics and borders and to reconnect with their Islamic identity. He called on Muslims to reject failed manmade ideologies and return to a system revealed by Allah (swt), one that delivers justice for all and unites believers under a single banner.
The conference sent a message far beyond America. This was a call to Muslims in the West and across the world to recognize the time we are living in. The era of silence has ended. The Ummah must organize, speak with clarity, and act with purpose. Allah Almighty commands: (يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاء لِلّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَى أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالأَقْرَبِينَ) “O you who believe, stand firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even if it be against yourselves, your parents, or your kin.” [Surat An-Nisa, 4:135].
This conference affirmed that the world is not lacking in solutions. What stands in the way is the rejection of truth. That truth is Islam. And the duty to carry it forward to revive the Ummah and bring the mercy of Allah (swt) to the world.
(كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ)
“You are the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah.” [Surat Aal-i Imran, 3:110]
