Within the past few years in America we have witnessed mass shootings one after the other. The execution of nine innocent African American churchgoers this past Wednesday represents yet another mass shooting in America. This horrific act in Charleston demonstrates the deep rooted flaws in America as a result of the Capitalist ideology the system follows. The mass shootings and racial hate crimes are not anomalies at all, but continuous examples that America and the West should focus on their internal affairs rather than the affairs of the world.
Both Muslims and Non-Muslims should challenge the media, politicians, and law enforcement agencies on some of the following issues:
- Are we going to see the media and politicians demand that every white male “condemn” the act of Dylann Roof (The white male shooter who executed 9 African Americans)? After a Muslim is entrapped by the FBI the media demands condemnation from the Muslim community, but statistically more Americans have died from terrorism acts committed by Non-Muslim (e.g Radical Right).
- Are we going to see the FBI run massive surveillance and entrapment programs targeting white males throughout the country?
- Has the media officially adopted terminology on how to address violent acts? Is the label “terrorism” only used if the accuser is a Muslim, a “thug” if the accuser is black, and “mentally ill” if the shooter is white?
In the past week we have witnessed radical right terrorist in America targeting law enforcement agencies, and now nine innocent African Americans were executed because the shooter didn’t like their skin color. This is Capitalism!
Islam eliminated the concept of race, tribe, etc. by bonding all Muslims as a single unit. The Prophet of Allah (SAW) said “All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood.“
