"The Month of Ramadhan, in which the Qur'an was revealed, is guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadhan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on in a state of travelling, then the missed days must be made up from other days. Allah intends for you ease and not difficulty. (He wants that you) complete the number of days and glorify Him for having guided you, and that you may be thankful to Him." [Al-Baqarah, 2:185]

Alhamdulillah and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and peace be upon his family, his companions, those who gave their loyalty to him, and those who followed him, tracing his steps and establishing the Islamic 'Aqeeda as the foundation for their thought, and the Ahkam Al-Shar'iyyah as the measure for judgment in their actions and the source of their laws.

It was narrated by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih on the authority of Muhammed Bin Ziyad, who said, "I heard Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, say: 'The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said', or he said, 'Abu Al-Qasim صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Fast when you see it, and break your fast when you see it, and if you cannot see it then complete 30 days of Sha'ban.'"

And after seeking the Hilal of the blessed month of Ramadhan on this Saturday night, a legal (Shar'ee) sighting of the moon has NOT been confirmed, and therefore Sunday will be the completion of 30 days of Sha'ban inshaAllah. Monday will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadhan.

On this occasion, the Ameer of Hizb ut-Tahrir , the Alim 'Ataa Bin Khaleel Abu Al-Rashta, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى protect him, congratulates you and all the sons and daughters of this noble Islamic Ummah for the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadhan. And he asks Allah سبحانه وتعالى to honour us in this great and blessed month with the re-establishment of Allah's Deen on earth and the restoration of the Ummah's usurped authority via the re-establishment of the Islamic Khilafah. The state that will end the oppression of the oppressed and give justice to Allah's slaves who have been wronged. It will implement the Shar'a of Allah as it pleases Him سبحانه وتعالى. He سبحانه وتعالى is the one able to realize it...

I would like as well to convey to you the warm wishes of the head of the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir, as well as all those working within it, asking Allah سبحانه وتعالى to make us from amongst the redeemed of this blessed month and make us from amongst the witnesses of laylatu al Kadr and enjoy its reward. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى make next Ramadhan find us is a state of dignity and strength... Allahuma Ameen.

Oh Muslims everywhere!

I ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to accept from us and you and all the Muslims our fasting (s'eyam) and prayers (Kyam), as well as the Ruko'a and Sudjud and all the good deeds. And I ask Him سبحانه وتعالى to honor the Islamic Ummah, by next Ramadhan, with a just Khalifah Rashid who will protect and behind whom people will fight...a Khalifah who will lead the Ummah by the book of Allah and the sunnah of his Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم...and Allah سبحانه وتعالى is the one able to realize it...

Oh Muslims everywhere!

And in closing of our temporary broadcast today, on the occasion of the sighting of the First Crescent Moon (Hilal) of the Month of Ramadhan, we would like to announce that the central media office has prepared a special broadcast for this blessed month. We ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to make it a source of goodness (kheir) and that you spend a beneficial and useful time in the obedience of Allah ta'ala.

May Allah accept from you and us the Ta'at.

والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
