(Founder & Leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir 1953-1977) Sheikh Muhammad Taqiuddin bin (son of) Ibrahim, bin (son of) Mustafah, bin (son of) Ismail, bin (son of) Yusuf al-Nabhani. He belonged to the ancient Arab tribe of Bani Nabhan, from North Palestine. He was born in the village of Ijzim, within the district of Haifa, in 1909. While his father was also a scholar of Islamic jurisprudence, and accordingly worked as a lecturer in Islamic Law or Shari’ah, his mother mastered the Islamic sciences and was also an Islamic scholar. Sheikh Abdul Qadeem Zallum, bin (son of) Yousuf, bin (son of) Abdul Qadeem, bin (son of) Younus, bin (son of) Ibraheem al-Sheikh Zallum was born in 1924 in the city of al-Khaleel (Hebron), Palestine. He was the second Ameer of Hizb ut-Tahrir after Sheikh Muhammad Taqiuddin al-Nabhani.  He comes from a well known family famous for their steadfastness in Islam. His father was a Hafiz al-Quran and worked as a teacher during his time in the Ottoman state. Ata Abu Rashta; full name Sheikh Abu Yasin Ata ibn Khalil Abu Rashta (born in 1943 in Ra'na, Hebron, Palestine); is an Islamic jurist, scholar and writer. He is the current global leader of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir.

Early life and education


He was born into an observant Islamic family in 1943 in the small village of Ra'na in the Hebron area of the Palestinian territories. He observed first-hand the Israeli destruction of Ra'na in 1948 and thereafter moved with his family to a refugee camp near Hebron.
